Mount Arafat: A hill located outside Mecca where pilgrims gather on the ninth day of Hajj to pray and ask for forgiveness from God.
Mina: A valley near Mecca where pilgrims spend three days during Hajj throwing stones at pillars representing Satan’s temptations, symbolizing their rejection of evil and commitment to God’s will.
Christians don’t have a mecca, per se, but there are certain places that are considered holy and important to the faith. The most famous of these is the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, which is believed to be where Jesus was crucified and buried. Other important sites include Bethlehem, where Jesus was born; Nazareth, where he grew up; and Rome, home of the Vatican.
