Hello, iam Karen Spradlin, Peace out!

Well, that’s a bummer! Meloetta has been banned from competitive play in the Pokémon Trading Card Game. It’s a real shame, ‘cause it was such a powerful card. But hey, that’s the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. I guess we’ll just have to make do without it now. Still, it’s hard to believe that this beloved card is no longer allowed in tournaments and other official events. Ah well, at least we can still enjoy playing with it casually!

Is Meloetta Banned? [Solved]

Well, that’s a bummer! Aurorus and Meloetta aren’t available in Sword and Shield, so they won’t be legal options for most Gen 8 formats. Yikes! But don’t worry - if you don’t choose a format, the teambuilder will still use the current gen dex by default.

  1. Ability Change: Meloetta’s ability, Serene Grace, has been changed to Pixilate, which increases the power of its Normal-type moves by 30%.

  2. Movepool Change: Meloetta has gained access to several new moves such as Hyper Voice and Boomburst.

  3. Stat Changes: Meloetta’s base stats have been increased from 100/77/77/128/128/90 to 100/90/77/128/128/90.

  4. Type Change: Meloetta is now a dual-type Psychic and Fairy Pokémon instead of just a Normal and Psychic type Pokémon.

  5. Competitive Impact: With its new movepool and stat changes, Meloetta is now a viable competitive option in both singles and doubles formats in the VGC metagame.

Oh man, Meloetta’s been banned! That’s a real bummer. It was such a cool Pokémon, too. I guess it just got too powerful for the competitive scene. Still, it’s sad to see it go - no more singing and dancing in battles! Ah well, at least we can still enjoy Meloetta in other ways.
