Hello, iam Donald Lamoreaux, Have a two coffee day!
Whoa, talk about a weird topic! Toes called? What does that even mean? Well, it turns out that there are actually a few different ways to refer to toes. From the scientific terms for each toe to the more colloquial names, there’s something for everyone. So let’s take a look at all the different ways you can call your toes!
What Are The 5 Toes Called? [Solved]
Well, the second toe is sometimes called the “index toe” or “pointer toe”, then there’s the third one, which is known as the “middle toe”. After that comes the fourth one, also known as the “fore toe”, and finally there’s the fifth one - often referred to as a “baby toe”, “little toe”, “pinky toe” or even a “small toe” - which is on the outermost side.
Hammer Toes: A deformity of the toes in which the middle joint is bent downward, causing the toe to resemble a hammer.
Claw Toes: A deformity of the toes in which all four joints are bent downward, causing the toe to resemble a claw.
Mallet Toes: A deformity of the toes in which only the distal joint is bent downward, causing the toe to resemble a mallet.
Overlapping Toes: A condition where one or more toes overlap another toe due to an imbalance between muscles and tendons that control them.
Clubbed Toes: A condition where one or more toes become enlarged and curved due to an imbalance between muscles and tendons that control them.
Toes are often called “piggies” because they look like little pig noses! They’re also sometimes referred to as “tootsies,” which is a cute way of saying toes. And if you’ve ever stubbed your toe, you know it’s not fun - ouch!
